date will be considered according to the availability of funds.
Coahoma Community College does not participate in Federal Family Education Loan Programs.
Students cannot receive student loans at this institution.
NOTE: Students may be selected for verification and must complete an electronic process
to be awarded aid. If you do not complete the verification process, you forfeit eligibility
for federal student aid and other need-based aid.
1. WHAT IS VERIFICATION?
Verification is a review process which documents select data elements of a student's
FAFSA. Each year approximately 30% of FAFSAs filed across the nation are selected for verification. In this FAFSA review, the financial aid staff compares the FAFSA with information
provided in the required verification documents, including IRS tax data. If discrepant
information is discovered, the Coahoma Community College financial aid office will
update the FAFSA and send the corrected FAFSA to FPS for reprocessing. Additionally,
financial aid awards will be recalculated using the updated FAFSA and its SAI calculation.
2. WHAT DOCUMENTATION WILL BE REQUIRED?
Generally, when selected, a verification worksheet as well as other documents relating
to dependency, finances and identity may be required.
3. HOW CAN I SUBMIT THE REQUIRED VERIFICATION DOCUMENTS?
Documents should be submitted via the Student Forms platform. For more information,
please click here.
5. WHAT IF I HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS PROCESS?
Contact the Financial Aid office via email at financialaid@gmbot.net or by phone (662.621.4200).
